At the end of Key Stage 2 (Year 6) children are required to take National Curriculum Tests in the three core subjects areas; English, Mathematics and Science. The results are published nationally thereby allowing comparison between schools of similar types.

Our prime aim is for each individual child to achieve the best that they possibly can in the widest sense. We are however, delighted that for the fifth year running our Year Six test results in English, Mathematics and Science make Southwater Junior School one of the most successful large primary
schools in West Sussex.

ATTENDANCE

At Southwater Junior School we are committed to encouraging the best possible attendance from all the pupils on roll at the school, knowing that this supports the best possible all-round lerning for children.

The Headteacher has the option to approve absence up to 10 days in any school year, which is requested either by letter or by completing the standard school form, and sent to the Headteacher for approval.

If you wish to request approval for an authorised absence the form can be downloaded from the link here.

Please note authorised absences will not be approved in the second half of the Spring Term or in the Summer Term for Yr 6 pupils until after the National Curriculum Tests have been completed.
